Theresa Lackey Shares Power of Vision Loss Support Group
A regular attendee of the Vision Loss Support Group, Theresa Lackey states, “I have been attending this group for the last couple of years. I was diagnosed with retinal degeneration and was told that I would have low vision the rest of my life. I have given up driving, which is alright; I walk a lot more and get exercise to and from the grocery store. I can read print that is really large and I stick to just listening to the T.V. I am always impressed with the people in this group who are totally blind. They are so positive and lead such productive lives. They have learned first-hand how to adapt and what works for them to maintain their independence. I am the most sighted person in the group, and I find those with total vision loss a true inspiration.”
